The first-ever MTV EMA took place back when Prince was still known as the Artist Formerly Known As Prince. He performed ‘Peach’ at our debut Berlin show; other performers included Aerosmith, Björk, Take That, and George Michael. And the EMA launched its tradition of honouring humanitarian efforts, with Bono accepting the first Free Your Mind award on behalf of Amnesty International.
